Professor Frank Harris III recently shared his journey researching the use of the n-word in America with students at Marin Academy in San Rafael, California.
His workshop, “Any Other Name: The n-Word in America,” was among nine presented at Marin Academy’s Literary Festival Spring 2024, hosted on March 21 and 22.
Harris has studied the use of the n-word in newspapers, magazines and books, as well as music, film, radio and more. HIs hour-long documentary, Journey to the Bottom of the n-Word, was released in 2016 and was featured in the Twin Cities Black Film Festival and the Baltimore International Film Festival.
