Five journalism students received department awards at the 2017 Honors Convocation April 30 at Southern Connecticut State University.
The department awards top students and student journalists each spring with the Robin Marshall Glassman Outstanding Journalism Graduate and Southern News Journalist of the Year awards.
The Outstanding Journalism Graduate award, named for the department’s founder, recognizes students graduating with the highest academic records in the department. The Southern News Journalist of the Year Award recognizes outstanding service to the Southern News.
